Easy Pork Burger Recipe

Homemade Pork Burgers
I haven't eaten red meat since I was a small child, I personally don't like the taste. If you're like me or just fancy something different from a regular burger, then a homemade Pork Burger is a great alternative. You can add many different ingredients to take them from a basic burger, to a gourmet one.
It's nice to make your own burgers, you know exactly what's gone into them with no hidden surprises. Some shop bought burgers contain a ridiculously large amount of salt which can be dangerous, especially if you eat a lot of processed foods that also contain it. At least when you make your own burgers you know that the ingredients are healthy.
These pork burgers are ideal for kids, just make them into mini burgers and watch them fly of the plate!
Pork Burgers Cooking
Basic Pork Burger Ingredients
500g Pork Mince
1 Large egg
Generous pinch of Garlic Salt (though you could use Sea Salt if you prefer) and Black Pepper
How To Make Pork Burgers
Get a bowl or container to mix the ingredients in
Mash the Pork Mince with a fork so that the mince is broken down into a smooth pulp
Add the Egg and season with Garlic Salt and Black Pepper
Mix together to bind
Basic Pork Mince Mix
From Basic To Brilliant
Once you have the basic pork mince ingredients mixed, then you can raid the store cupboards and fridge for a more exciting Burger.
In the ones pictured above cooking, I added:
1 large sweet Apple (cored then grated)
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 heaped teaspoon of Chives
1 heaped teaspoon of Italian Seasoning (this consists of Oregano, Basil, dried Red Pepper, Marjoram, Thyme, Rosemary, Sage and Parsley)
1 heaped teaspoon of English Mustard

Making The Burgers
500g of Pork Mince made 3 HUGE bugers when I made them last, though I sometimes prefer more bite size portions, then you obviously get many more.
Heat a frying pan on high and add about 2 teaspoons of oil. I use Olive.
Place the Burgers into the hot pan.
I usually lower the heat to medium high once the burgers have started frying.
Cook for 15-20 minutes if large, turning occasionally. Reduce cooking time for patty size when smaller.
Finished Result
- Posh Pork Burgers
Hot to make gourmet Pork Burgers stuffed with cheese.
Alternative Ingredients
Onions are always a favourite, though I would suggest lightly frying them before adding them to the mix.
If you like a spicy burger you could add Chillis or Peppers. Maybe some Tabasco.
I find that most Herbs work great in these Burgers, so just add your favourite. I've not tried them yet but Spices could be interesting...
These Burgers are so versatille that you really can't go wrong so long as the basic mix is in place.
Comments
I am an American and as such I have never heard of Pork, or Beef, Mince.
What is this Mince, please?
Thanks, Dennis
This burger taste delicious! I tried out this burger recently and did it in slightly different way. On top of your recipe, I added some chopped onion and grated lemon zest into the patty .This burger went very well with wasabi flavour mayonnaise and very compatible with roasted piquillo peppers. Initially I was planning to used bottled piquillo peppers, sadly to say we don’t have any Spanish grocery shop near by; therefore home grown roasted piquillo is the only option. I used this loaf tin to make a square burger bun.
it didnt work :(
I'll have a think and see what I can come up with Abhinaya. Thanks for commenting.

I believe that you would refer to it as ground pork or beef Dennis.
