4 Steps To Beautiful Skin - How To Get The Best Body Skin Ever

By

Beautiful Skin Is Easy To Obtain

You don't have to spend a lot of money to get beautiful skin, especially body skin. It can be dull and lifeless, but if you follow these steps, within a week you will notice that beautiful skin is replacing what was there before. The trick is to maintain it.

I'm lazy, and I don't like being cold, so in the Winter my beautiful skin ineveitably suffers and becomes dry and dull. I don't put much time or effort, in fact I don't really put any into looking after my body skin in the Winter, so when Spring starts to roll around and Summer is looming, my skin is in dire need of some TLC.

It's so easy to transform your body skin though, with these steps, a whole Winter of neglect can be rectified in a matter of days. The more you use the steps, the better your skin will look. We're not talking about how to get nice skin, we're talking how to get beautiful, stunning skin that you'll want to show off!

Kingsley Natural Bristle Body Brush with Contoured Wooden Handle
I find that it's way easier to use a body brush with an angled handle for all those hard to reach bits!

Step 1 - Body Brushing

Even if you skip steps 2 and 3, body brushing will give noticable results in a matter of days. If you want to know how to get beautiful body skin, this is the step not to miss.

Body brushing not only gets rid of dead skin cells, but it also has health benefits. It improves circulation and can boost the immune system. The skin is an organ of elimination, just like the liver and kidneys, and body brushing can boost the rate of which toxins are released from the body. But enough about your insides, this is about getting beautiful skin, it's an added bonus that you're doing something good to other parts of your body as well!

A soft bristled body brush should be used in long sweeping motions across the skin, towards the heart. If your skin is a bit neglected, you will notice a fine white powder coming from the skin as you brush. This is the dead skin cells that have been making the skin look dull.

Do not be tempted to use a body brush on your face, it's way too harsh. Use everywhere else, but be very gentle with the skin around the chest. If you're vigorous with your brushing, it can be a pretty good calorie burner too! Brush until the skin is smooth, but stop before the skin gets sore. Ideally you would body brush everyday for beautiful body skin.

Step 2 - Exfoliation

Exfoliation is a must to remove the layers of dead skin cells that have built up on the skin. It needs to be done in the shower or standing in the bath, and the skin needs to be very wet before application.

The exfoliator should be applied as you go, not to the entire body, so start with with an arm or leg and gently massage in circular motions, always in the direction of the heart. This stimulates circulation and gives an overall feeling of energy and wellbeing.

As the exfoliator massages away the dead skin cells, keep adding water and more exfoliant until the area is smoother, but don't make the area sore. Be extra gentle around the chest area, as skin can be thinner there. Special attention may be needed on feet, elbows and knees as these areas can be drier. I would exfoliate every other day to begin with, then just do it a couple of times a week once the skin is smooth.

L'Occitane Creme de Douchie, Beurre de Karitè (Ultra Rich Shower Cream), 8.4-Ounce Bottle
Maybe more than a lot of people are willing to pay for a shower cream, but it is so rich that you end up using a minimal amount each time, so it lasts. After using this shower cream the skin feels totally moisturised due to the shea butter content.

Step 3 - Moisturise In The Shower Or Bath

I know that sounds silly, but it isn't. Some shower gels and bath foams strip away moisture from the skin and though leaving you feeling clean, can also leave the skin tight and dry. Avoid gels and go for creams instead.

This is the one area I would recommend spending more on, especially for the bath. There are loads of bath creams on the market, but if you look at the ingredients, the percentage of 'cream' is minimal in most. If you're going to soak your body in something, look at the ingredients first.

I love L'Occitane products for the shower and bath as they do exactly what is expected of them. However, my greatest bathing discovery was Elemis Bath Milk. I can't tell you how amazing this stuff is. There's definitely a Cleopatra moment waiting to happen with this product! You can use it as a moisturiser too, direct to the skin without any water. It is pricey, but you do get what you pay for. It leaves the skin so soft and moist, but mostly it's about lying in a bath that looks full of milk. There's something so sumptuous about it! If you want to splash out on something special to pamper yourself, then this is the product, but you most likely wouldn't bath in it everday. That's where L'Occitane comes in for me.

Step 4 - Moisturise, Moisturise, Moisturise!

The final step for beautiful skin has got to be conventional moisturising. The thing that some people don't realise about moisturising the skin, is that, if you don't body brush or exfoliate, then you are just applying a layer of product to dead skin cells, it won't penetrate the lower layers of skin that need it most. In order to get the most from a moisturiser, you need to strip away the dead layers first, only then will a moisturiser do it's job properly

If you're following the above steps, then I really wouldn't bother with an expensive moisturiser. The steps above will have prepared the skin accordingly to receive the hydration it is about to be applied. Coco or Shea Butter is great, but any decent brand of moisturiser can be used.

Beautiful skin in 4 steps - it's not really that hard to get stunning skin, even if it currently resembles an elephants behind!

These are nice tips. While using exfoliants always be gentle on your skin since scrubbing harder is not going to make you more cleaner. It may instead irritate existing lesions or promote the development of new ones. You should avoid garments made exclusively of Lycra and nylon if you are prone to body acne since some synthetic fabrics can strap the heat and moisture against your skin. This creates a fertile breeding ground for the bacteria.

Always good to see people writing hubs about how to do things the natural way rather than pushing a specific product.
